ABOUT THE ARTIST
David Brownlow (1915-2008) was a self-taught artist from Fort Worth, Texas. He went from studying art books to being one of the most prolific and respected artists of the Fort Worth Circle, a post-war collective that enlivened the North Texas art scene with colorful modernist artworks. Brownlow worked exclusively with a palette knife, imbuing his canvases with bright colors and bold textures.
