Mimmo Paladino is an Italian sculptor, printmaker, and painter. He finds fertile ground for inspiration from Egyptian, tribal, mythical, and classical images.

Paladino's sculptures, like his paintings and works on paper, take on classical subjects, like horses, birds, and the human figure, and renders them with elegant elongated features.

He was part of the late 1970’s-80’s art movement Transavanguardia, which means “beyond the avant-garde”. It was an influential Italian movement that rejected conceptual art in favor of a return to the traditional act of painting and finding an emotional response, often elation, to creating and experiencing art.
