Adeine de La Noe (1914-1987) was born in France where she studied art at the Beaux Arts in Lille and the Grande Chaumière in Paris. In 1956 she emigrated to American to study at the Art Students League in New York. She moved to Taos, New Mexico in 1961 to complete an artist residency with the Helene Wurlitzer Foundation. The artist was a respected member of the Taos Modernists and active in the artists' colony in Taos where she remained for the rest of her life.
