Tommy Macaione (1907-1992) moved to Santa Fe in 1951 and quickly became a part of the colony of painters of the day. Sighting Alfred Morang and Fauvism as his main inspirations, Macaiones' landscapes are a well known example of the Santa Fe genre. He spent the rest of his life in Santa Fe, becoming known as "El Diferente" and a bronze statue commemorates the artist in one of the city parks.
