David Hockney (b. 1937) has worked with painting and photography during his decades long career to create some of the most recognizable works of our time. From his famous pool series depicting the swimming pools and lifestyle of 1960s Hollywood to his set designs for the Met Opera House, his contributions to art span his long career. In 2011 Hockney was named the most influential British artist of the 20th century. He lives in England and Los Angeles, CA where he continues to make innovative and inspiring works.
